Our work aims to stimulate sustainable growth, protect the environment, and develop strategies for the adaptation and mitigation of climate change.

Our Institute for Climate Resilience (ICR) is looking for a new position of Post-Doc Researcher, located in Sassari, responsible for supporting the development of a regional configuration for the land surface and vegetation model used at CMCC, namely Community Land Model (CLM), to exploit the capabilities of our tool in estimating biogeochemical cycles at very high resolution.

The Post-Doc Researcher is responsible for support ongoing research for the National Biodiversity Center

The Post-Doc Researcher is responsible of:
  • Supporting to the team in:
    • Developping a regional configuration for the land surface and vegetation model CLM;
    • Achieving project results.

  • Ph.D. physics, environmental sciences or equivalent degrees;
  • Good knowledge of programming languages, especially Fortran;
  • Knowledge of land surface biogeochemical representation in land surface models;
  • Experience in working with large amount of climate data;
  • Accuracy and good analytical skills;
  • Fluency in English.

  • Based on the duration of the employment contract, without prejudice to any changes in organisation and/or career paths and downstream of the performance appraisal.
  • The appointment is assigned following:
  1. internal selection;
  2. external selection in the event that there are no internal candidates, or they are assessed as unsuitable.
  • The appointment period will be initially of n° 12 months starting from May 2024, renewable for n°12 months additional pending a positive evaluation. Tenure can be granted from 2 to 4 years after being appointed as a junior researcher;
  • The gross annual salary range is from 25 to 29K Euros, depending on qualification and working experience;
  • Welfare package (for min 12 months contract);
  • Flexible working time;
  • Support during the immigration process, if needed.

The project promotes female and youth employment and the reduction of territorial gaps according to art.  47 “promotion of generational and gender equal opportunities for the awarding of public contracts for the implementation of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR)”, of the Italian Law Decree no. 77/2021 converted into law no. 108 of 29 July 2021.
