We are looking for a talented, motivated and proactive post-degree to work in the Climate Variability and Predictions Division (CLIVAP) at the Institute for Earth System Predictions (IESP), in the framework of CMCC Program on Artificial intelligence and Machine Learning.

ROLE
The successful applicant will investigate the role and potential of the Koopman spectral decomposition to analyze climate variability.


RESPONSIBILITIES
The post degree will support the division, with:

  • Analyzing tropical variability of the SST
  • Developing application software

REQUIREMENTS
  • Master Degree in climate sciences or related subjects
  • Experience with the Koopman decomposition;
  • Good experience with Python;
  • Very good knowledge of the English language;
  • Publications demonstrating quality research.


DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Please note that this opportunity will be issued both internally and externally.
  • The position will be based in Bologna CMCC office.
  • The appointment period will be initially of 12 months starting from November 2024, with a gross annual salary of 25.000 Euro.
  • Welfare package, for minimum 12 months contract.
  • Flexible working time as per internal policies.
  • Support during the immigration process, if needed.
