The CMCC Foundation is looking for up to 2 highly motivated Project Managers to support the management and implementation of national and international research projects, funded by national, European, and private funds. The selected candidate will coordinate multi-partner collaborations, ensuring effective project execution, compliance with funding requirements, and successful knowledge transfer between research teams and stakeholders.
The role requires strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously within an international, interdisciplinary research environment.

ROLE
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Project Manager will support the Regional Models and Geo-Hydrological Impacts (REMHI) Division, ensuring the efficient execution of national and international research projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Project Development & Execution – Oversee project implementation, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and timely delivery of results, while coordinating with the Fundraising and Administration Office in Lecce for financial and administrative consistency.
- Financial & Administrative Oversight – Monitor budgets, financial reporting, and adherence to contractual obligations.
- Consortium & Stakeholder Engagement – Foster collaboration across CMCC divisions, its three institutes, and external partners, including research institutions, industry, funding agencies, and policymakers, to maximize project impact.
- Risk & Compliance Management – Identify potential risks, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Knowledge Transfer & Dissemination – Communicate project results effectively through reports, publications, and stakeholder engagement.
- Monitoring & Reporting – Track milestones, prepare progress reports, and ensure timely submission of deliverables.
- Strategic Coordination – Align activities with the Division and Institute Manager and Division Director, ensuring coherence across projects while maintaining continuous interaction with the technical-scientific staff for effective project execution.
REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Sciences, Engineering, Economics, Political Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in project management within research, innovation, or environmental sectors.
- Strong knowledge of EU funding programs (e.g., Horizon Europe, LIFE, Interreg) and national funding schemes (e.g. PNRR).
- Experience in budget management, financial reporting, and compliance with funding agency regulations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with international consortia and diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a results-driven approach.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken); knowledge of Italian is an asset.
- High level of proficiency in MS Office, project management tools and financial monitoring systems.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS
- Knowledge of contract management and procurement processes in publicly funded projects.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience with climate data, risk assessments, or adaptation and mitigation strategies is advantageous.
DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Please note that this opportunity will be issued both internally and externally.
- The Managers will be based in Caserta CMCC office.
- Contract and gross annual salary will be based on qualifications and working experience.
- Welfare package, for minimum 12 months contract.
- Flexible working time as per internal policies.
- Support during the immigration process, if needed.
