We are seeking a Climate Adaptation Policy Dialogue Specialist to lead and facilitate engagement with policymakers, stakeholders, and decision-makers at local, national, and international levels. This role will support climate adaptation policy development, foster multi-stakeholder dialogues, and contribute to evidence-based policymaking in alignment with climate resilience goals.

ROLE
The Climate Adaptation Policy Dialogue Specialist will be responsible for bridging the gap between scientific research and policy implementation. S/he will work closely with policymakers, community leaders, private sector stakeholders, and multilateral organizations to promote climate resilience and drive the adoption of sustainable practices.
RESPONSABILITIES
- Develop and implement policy dialogue strategies on climate adaptation.
- Facilitate engagement between governments, research institutions, private sector, and civil society to enhance climate resilience efforts.
- Organize and moderate policy forums, workshops, and stakeholder consultations on adaptation policies and strategies.
- Conduct policy analysis and prepare briefings, reports, and recommendations to support decision-making.
- Monitor and assess climate adaptation policies and trends at the national and international levels.
- Build and maintain partnerships with key stakeholders, ensuring inclusive and science-based discussions.
- Represent the organization in conferences, working groups, and policy networks related to climate adaptation.
REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s degree or higher in Climate Policy, Environmental Studies, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field.
- At least 6 years of experience in policy dialogues, stakeholder engagement, and climate adaptation governance.
- Strong understanding of climate adaptation frameworks, policy instruments, and international climate agreements (e.g., Paris Agreement, UNFCCC processes).
- Excellent skills in facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement across sectors.
- Experience in organizing high-level dialogues, workshops, and policy roundtables.
- Strong analytical and writing skills with the ability to translate complex climate issues into actionable policy insights.
- Proficiency in English (working language at CMCC/RAAS), additional languages are an asset.
DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Please note that this opportunity will be open to both internal and external candidates.
- The successful applicant will be based at the CMCC office in Venice.
- The contract type and gross annual salary will be determined based on qualifications and work experience. The initial contract duration will be 12 months, with the possibility of extension to at least 24 months. Additionally, the position offers access to a tenure track pathway.
- A welfare package is available for contracts of at least 12 months.
- Flexible working arrangements will be provided in accordance with internal policies.
- Support for the immigration process will be offered, if needed.

Belonging to legally protected categories (ex L. 68/99) will constitute a preferential condition.
Some fiscal benefits could be applied for repatriated workers or foreign researchers/professors, having the requirements defined by Dlgs 147/2015 (for repatriates) or Dl 78/2010 (for foreigners).
