We are looking for one Science Coordination Advisor to carry out activities in support of the MAGICA project, contributing to the realization of tasks assigned to ATEC within work packages. MAGICA aims to accelerate the development and exchange of knowledge from research and innovation to inform policy and action. This occurs based on circular and repeated interactions with the strategic, scientific, and societal components of climate research and innovation. The project also focuses on the European Research Area (ERA), a unified market for research, innovation, and technology.
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Science Coordination Advisor to support the delivery of a Horizon Europe-funded project focused on strengthening the science-policy interface in climate change science led by CMCC-ATEC in collaboration with JPI Climate. Together with the team the advisor will work to the implementation of MAGICA milestones such as included in the Roadmap towards the Climate Neutrality Forum 2026. The work will be carried out in strong collaboration with the project partners and the Central Secretariat of JPI Climate, based in Brussels, Belgium.

ROLE
The Science Coordination Advisor reports to the ATEC Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Science Coordination Advisor will support ATEC, as follows:
- Support the ATEC Director in its role as coordinator of MAGICA and VICE Chair of JPI Climate to steer the progress of the project
- Organize and contribute to the implementation of decisions by the Steering Committee
- Provide supporting material, organize project meetings and draft minutes as well as ensure follow up
- Write news items and communication material in relation to MAGICA events in collaboration with the team on communications at JPI Climate
- Initiate and manage information flow within different MAGICA and JPI Climate bodies and key stakeholders
- Organize various forums for networking and exchange between knowledge holders, researchers, and policymakers – online and in person.
REQUIREMENTS
- Master in communication or international affairs
- At least 3 years of work experience
- High motivation to work in a multicultural environment
- Capacity to take initiative
- Team worker and excellent communication skills in English
- Initial experience in Horizon Europe project management
DURATION, COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
- Please note that this opportunity will be issued both internally and externally.
- The successful candidate will be based in Brussels.
- The appointment period will initially be 5 months and renewable pending a positive evaluation.
- Contract and gross annual salary will be based on qualifications and working experience.
- Welfare package, for minimum 12 months contract.
- Flexible working time as per internal policies.
